Philosophy

Printing is generally not an earth-friendly process. The good news there has been a major shift in our wasteful lifestyles and finding new eco-friendly options to help the environment.

Pretty Inviting Design Studio is dedicated to environmental responsibility and sustainable practices. Going green does not comprise the quality of custom designed paper.

Here are some of the ways Pretty Inviting Design is going green:

Every card is printed on FSC certified, 100% recycled, 100% post consumer waste which is generally considered the most ecological choice in recycled papers
Every card is printed using non-toxic vegetable or soy based inks
I use suppliers that have been researched to ensure the most earth-friendly choice are made before production
I use double-sided printing, smaller paper sizes, and no-bleed to cut down on the waste incurred at the printers
I do my best to limit the natural resources used and the waste left behind at the studio

Ideas

Our daily practices incorporate eco-friendly choices around the office:

Limit the use of paper by printing less, backing up important files on an external drive and using digital documents
If printing is necessary, use 100% post consumer recycled paper
Send sketches, proofs and invoices as PDFs and allow electronic signatures
Finding printers and suppliers with environmentally friendly practices
Back up important files and e-mails and keep them on an external drive, instead of storing boxes of paper files
Conserve energy by completely shutting down computers and machines overnight
Choose products that are manufactured with renewable energy
Recycle computer equipment and ink cartridges
Keep learning about eco-awareness and share with others
