Order

The Process

I do ask clients to please e-mail me initially to briefly describe the project for your occasion. I will respond quickly and from that point, we can set up a time to meet in person, talk on the phone or continue to e-mail to work through the design. I am happy to meet and work with clients locally and elsewhere in the United States.

During our initial conversation, we will establish the goals for the project and discuss a design direction. I will provide sketches and an estimate for the entire project based on your request within a week.

Conceptualizing (developing the concept or theme)
Artwork (selecting graphics and photos, scanning, creating custom artwork)
Layout/design (developing layout or design based on the purpose and concept of the paper, selecting type, placing graphics)
Copywriting/editing/proofreading
Final revisions and approval
Printing and delivery

Turnaround time will vary from project to project but a timeframe will be discussed in the initial conversation. Please also note that the amount of changes (color, quantity) you make during the design process will affect your turnaround time. Following printing and delivery, a detailed invoice will be sent to the client.

Pricing Guidelines

Each project differs depending on time, complexity, quantity, choices and so on. This makes it difficult to charge an hourly rate which seems to work only when there is a deep understanding by both parts to what each step of the process entails, and what responsibilities each party is undertaking.

For each project, I charge an initial flat fee for the design process, the sketching and the various research that goes into the project. I do not work at an hourly rate at this time.

I will send a quote after our first meeting. Upon final design approval, you will receive a detailed invoice.
